A 22-year-old from Leigh, who was driving the car, is being treated at the Royal Bolton Hospital. His condition was improving today.
The passenger in the car, a 20-year-old man from Affetside, was trapped for 30 minutes and had to be cut free by firefighters. He was taken to hospital but died later. He has not yet been named.
