AS we continue to see Bolton gradually grinding to a halt, due to the so-called calming measures being imposed upon us "the suffering motorists", there is perhaps a glimmer of hope.
The first glimmer is a report that four Sheffield bus drivers are suing their bosses over back injuries they say are caused by continually having to drive over road humps, which, if successful, could lead to a mass of claims against local councils.
The second glimmer is the impending local elections, a time when, after suffering severe discomfort and delays, high parking charges and unsympathetic attendants and traffic wardens, local motorists can show their appreciation to Cllr Guy Harkin and the Council.
