IN 1979, a team from Bolton In Trim ran and lifted their way to become real athletics "superstars" at Horwich Leisure Centre.
The five-man team beat all-comers to take the first Bolton Super Fit Trophy.
Eight teams from Bolton and surrounding areas performed feats of strength, endurance and skill in a day-long programme of events.
