JODIE Robinson is cutting a dash in the male dominated world of rugby league.
Just eight months after her first taste of the sport, she has represented her county.
Jodie, 13, a pupil at Westleigh High School, puts her meteoric rise to being inspired by a Leigh Centurions coaching session at the school.
Jodie played for Lancashire in a 14-12 defeat by Yorkshire at Huddersfield and her next ambition is to play for Great Britain.
The Centurions coaching sessions were organised by Anne Waltho, Westleigh High's sports co-ordinator. From these Jodie represented Wigan MBC at the Manchester Youth Games and later joined Ince Rose Bridge under-14s ladies team.
Westleigh head, John Pout, says: "I'm very proud of Jodie's efforts. She is a talented rugby player."
