Two minutes from the interval however, Lynx were back ahead when a chip through by John Braddish was picked up by Gavin Johnson and he sent in Martin Gambles with Mark McCully converting to leave Lynx with a 12-10 half-time advantage.
The second half was a different story as Swinton totally dominated proceedings. They were awarded a penalty try to Chris Roc within two minutes of the restart converted by Hough and Hough followed this up with a penalty two minutes later.
Swinton extended their lead with a Hough drop goal on the fifty first minute and this was followed four minutes later with a fine interception try from Kris Tassell again converted by Hough.
Swinton completed the scoring with a further try from Chris Hough and a Hough penalty to leave them worthy winners.
