FIFTEEN years after he appeared as the character 'Andy' in Tony Roper's hilarious comedy, The Steamie, at Oldham Coliseum, actor Eric Potts is back, this time behind the scenes directing a new production of the play.
The Steamie has been resurrected in response to many requests from theatregoers.
It's another chance to spend an evening at the wash-house with Doreen, Margaret, Dolly and the wonderful Mrs Culfeathers. The play is set on New Year's Eve -- but the work still goes on despite the celebrations. It's in a pre-launderette era when the women use the steaming to do their washing, chatter and share each other's dreams of wealth, happiness and a new council house.
Soap addicts will recognise Potts as the mysterious Mr Moore who lodged briefly with Sinbad and Tinhead in Brookside.
The Steamie runs at the Oldham Coliseum to May 10. Tickets from: 0161 624 2829.
