RECENTLY someone said to me they thought it was obscure that asylum seekers could come into this country and tap into the benefits system that they had never contributed to.
I replied that a person who hasn't worked for 20 years claiming every conceivable benefit the state has to offer, yet can still afford to tax and insure their motor vehicles, is pretty obscure to me.
All of a sudden the conversation came to an abrupt halt, perhaps it was because of something I said. The words kettle, pot and black immediately sprang to mind.
