BOLTON club had a frustrating weekend with very little rugby played due to a lack of opposition and the clubhouse being damaged considerably by vandals over the Easter period.
9The clubhouse had windows smashed and several roof tiles and security lights damaged. Most of the work has been repaired and the club is hoping this is and isolated incident.
Bolton's third team travelled to Preston to play a league game against the table toppers but the home side proved far too strong winning comfortably 42- 0.
This was not due to the lack of effort from the Bolton side, who faced players not familiar from their first encounter with Hoppers.
Old Boltonians a side made of ex-Bolton School players, many connected with the clb, and students returning from college, travelled to Eccles and won easily 46 - 0. Bolts had too much pace and tries were scored at regular intervals through several players.
The first team are still awaiting news of the date for their final important league game of the season. That is when they meet Ashton at home in a match when Bolton must gain at least one point to maintain their league status.
