WHAT the Mayor of London failed to do -- Bolton's Mayor did!
Ken Livingston refused to celebrate St George's Day in the capital, but Cllr John Walsh pushed the boat out and had two celebration events -- a coffee morning at St George's Craft Centre, and a concert at the Moat House.
"We put Bolton on the map as I did a live broadcast from St George's for radio Five Live about our celebrations," he said. The coffee morning when Smithills band played outside, raised more than £200 and the Moat House concert a further £700.
"Everyone had a great time," added the Mayor.
