RESIDENTS in Blackrod are being asked their views on transport issues in a consultation exercise that will form part of a major new study aimed at improving travel in the area.
The study -- which is being undertaken by Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive -- will focus on travel by bus and train, but will also take in cycling, walking and journeys by car.
Leaflets will be available locally and can be used to send in comments and suggestions. Focus groups will be held to look at particular issues and local organisations with an interest in travel will be contacted for their views.
Councillor Guy Harkin, deputy chair of GMPTE and Bolton Council's executive member of environment, said: "The information people give us about the kinds of issues they face when making journeys, the better we can develop the transport system in a way that helps as many people as possible.
"I would urge anyone who travels in and around Blackrod to get involved."
