I went out to celebrate St George's day on the April 23 in Westhoughton, dressed in my St George's Cross T-shirt only to find no pubs decorated with the cross of England and not many people out celebrating this great day.
One pub said it had forgotten to put up the buntings. Funny how the did not forget St Patrick's day -- cheap beer and decorations.
I am proud to be English and we should celebrate St George's Day. All it needs is a big build up like St Patrick's Day gets, even the Church of England did not fly the flag.
Maybe if the breweries put up decorations and did cheaper beer for the day people would celebrate this day and for one day forget all the doom and gloom in this country at the moment.
I still had a good night and was proud to wear the flag.
