Shops -- but no buses
I AGREE with every
thing in Mr Brown's letter, dated April 19, referring to the Water Place closure, and may I also add that the Water Place building will not go into decline like the Lido did.
When fighting to keep the cinema open, we were told that the Middlebrook Complex would be opening with 12 cinemas and a good bus route.
True, it was with a GMT bus to Wigan via the Middlebrook. Less than 12 months later this bus was discontinued. Later the Stagecoach 127 Bolton to Chorley on weekdays only called at Middlebrook. This is now to be discontinued at the end of April.
Another smack in the face for the pensioners who don't have a car to get to the complex.
Well, never mind, as nearly every bus from Bolton will take you to the big city -- Manchester. Manchester has buses going to the complex, but not from poor declining Bolton. Come on Bolton, get your act together.
