AM I a lone voice concerned to hear that next season the Wanderers will play in ALL WHITE ?

To my mind there is a distinction between tweeking and developing a brand and an image, as we have seen with the clubs logo over the last few seasons, which I accept is necessary, and basically throwing away what has gone before and starting again.

If it is to be all white next season, what about the one after - red and white ? Claret and Blue or maybe we should go for black and gold ? Who cares, if all we are about is selling replica kits then it does not matter.

The clubs commercial director Gareth Moore talks proudly of "the idea emerging 18 months ago when the main players in the design process met to discuss the home strip for the next 2 seasons " What happened to consultation with supporters ?

Perhaps someone should remind Mr Moore ,the all White kit was introduced in 1969/70 and lasted for two seasons , it coincided with Wanderers relegation to the then Third Division for the first time in their history and was marked by a serious financial crisis at the club. Are we wanting to tempt fate ?

Perhaps Mr Moore could clarify why " Sam reminded us of the 1970/71 season when Wanderers played in all white"?

Sam did not play first team football for the Wanderers at this time !

I have no issue with the club changing shirts annually if they wish , but how many other premiership clubs have fundamentally changed their kits in recent seasons? The club's colours should be left intact, there are some facets of football clubs which are deeply cultural and best left alone.

It is reminiscent of the commercial department introducing " The Wanderers Anthem " at the start of the 1997 season - good idea on paper but don't see many people singing along now ! and How much did that cost ?

Is it little wonder the Wanderers are in a financial mire when the creative talents of the club's commercial department can do nothing better than regurgitate tried and tested and failed ideas of the past.

Where will it end? "The Trotters" now there's a nickname in need of updating and come to think about it why persist with "Bolton Wanderers"? Surely more people would identify with "Lancashire lions"?

What the club is doing is second only to what the directors of Wimbledon FC are doing.

What the fans want is signs that we are moving forward, do we have plans in place to boost the capacity of the Reebok in time for next season assuming (and praying ) we stay up ? Will the front four rows of seats ever be installed?

Is it not a better commercial policy to focus on increasing and developing our fan base than continually trying to reinvent ourselves to extract more and more money from the same people over and over again?
