THE Lowry is hosting an outdoor extravaganza this May Bank Holiday Sunday, with a huge selection of fantastic entertainment providing a great tribute to a culturally diverse community.
Spend the afternoon and evening soaking up a unique festival atmosphere that features elements of carnival, mela and European fiesta.
On the plaza, there is a huge diversity of exciting acts on the three stage spaces including Tanzanian acrobats, Black eagles; Winner of the 2001 Notting Hill Carnival Best Band On The Road Presentation Yaa Asantewaa Arts; Maharajah's Banquet, the Asian Circus; Manchester School of Samba plus jazz, Bhangra, dance, percussion, poetry, art and the Bollywood Brass Band all culminating in a spectacular carnival-style finale the Runga Rung Parade starting at 10pm.
X.trax, the UK's international showcase festival, are working with the Arts Council of England's decibel project to bring a selection of the best contemporary performance to The Lowry, on Sunday, allowing the public to experience live performance art and a multi-cultural carnival atmosphere.
