A BOLTON teenager hid two small lumps of cannabis in his sock when he saw police approaching.
William Cooper, aged 19, of Barrie Way, pleaded guilty to cannabis possession and was given a 12 months' conditional discharge and ordered to pay £80 costs by Blackpool magistrates.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said that on April 24 police stopped a car in central Blackpool in which Cooper and others were travelling. Two lumps of cannabis were on the dashboard and Cooper concealed them in his sock.
Allan Cobain, defending, said Cooper and two friends had bought the cannabis between them for £5 before going to Blackpool.
The defence added that Cooper had co-operated fully with the police and pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.
