A 32-year-old man who died trying to save a couple from drowning at sea is to be honoured.
Angler Mark Smithurst jumped into the water at North Shore, Blackpool, last August after seeing a man and a woman struggling in the waves.
The couple survived but Mr Smithurst was swept out to sea and died.
His family will receive awards honouring his bravery from the Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society and the Carnegie Hero Fund Trust.
