SAM Allardyce is hoping referee Andy D'Urso will 'have the bottle' to rescind the red card that will keep French defender Florent Laville out of Wanderers' last match.

Laville, rated by Allardyce as the mainstay of the side since he joined ten games ago, was sent off in the 90th minute of Saturday's dramatic game with Arsenal after a second yellow card.

His automatic ban means he will miss the home game against Middlesbrough on the last day of the season - a match in which Wanderers may be fighting for their Premiership life.

Allardyce's main gripe against the Essex official is that according to stats from Sky TV, who covered the game, Laville committed only two fouls in the game.

"None of them were dirty, none of them career threatening, none of them in a dangerous area of the pitch yet he gets two yellow cards and sent off.

"That is a disgrace, It is not right and it is not acceptable. Ray Parlour alone committed four fouls himself before he got his first booking.

"There were worse tackles by both sides in the game. The tackle count was Arsenal 18 to our 15 so we haven't committed as many fouls as them yet we find ourselves down to ten men. Then they put up six minutes of added time to put even more pressure on us.

"It really has left a bitter taste in my mouth," he said.

"He has had plenty of stick from me today and he deserves it for what he did. I don't think anyone can argue about it. Now I hope he has the bottle to look at the match video and rescind the bookings."

It is not the first time Allardyce has been incensed by refereeing decisions and he did point out in midweek that he hoped the official would not be swayed by the pressure that can come from Arsenal players.

"People say I should not go on about it as much as I do but somebody has to speak up, somebody has to be loud and somebody has to keep asking for the referees to do the right thing in a game of football.

"We all make mistakes but I have to say that most of the major decisions made by referees in our games do not come our way.

"This might have cost us the game but fortunately it didn't but it might have cost us a win.

"If anyone was going to win the game at that stage, it was Bolton Wanderers."

Wanderers have already had a similar plea held up this season. Ivan Campo received two yellow cards and a sending off, ironically at Arsenal earlier in the season, but had them later rescinded after the referee had watched the match video.
