THE Bolton Sunday League title race is developing into a three-way battle between Horwich Victoria, Carter's Arms and Tonge Moor Cons Club.
Victoria and Tonge both won on Sunday but Carter's were left on the sidelines after their game was called off after opponents Grapes decided to pull out of the league. Their record has now been expunged.
Meanwhile Tonge Moor did their hopes no harm winning 3-2 at Hare & Hounds, Stoneclough with goals from Tony Bolton, Clint Ramsden and Barry Wilcox. Scorers for Hare & Hounds were Roger Peak and Eddie McAfee.
Victoria kept pace with them as Danny Holmes and James Charlton hit the target in a 2-0 win over Doffcocker and it could be that the title will be decided when they meet Carter's on May 11.
In the remaining Premier Division game, Griffin beat Hare & Hounds, Bolton 2-0, Mark Callow and Shaun Whorlow on target.
Greenwood are romping away with the first division title and their triumph could be confirmed next week after their latest success, a 3-0 away win at North West Paper.
Jolly Waggoner and Farnworth Whites are leading the chase to catch them but it looks as if they will be left to fight out the runners-up spot.
Waggoner beat Ladybridge away 3-2 with goals from Kevin Warrington, Carl Caffery and Nathan Peachey, the home side's reply coming from James Reynolds and Richard Massey, while Whites were comfortable 4-0 winners at Smithills.
Top score of thee day was Beaumont's 6-0 success over Cherry Tree Park, Adam Kay leading the way with a hat-trick, Dave Carroll adding two more and Jason Fielding one.
Bottom Bull and Greenfield shared seven goals with Bull just edging it 4-3, goals from Cameron, Nicholson, Cope and Baxter, and Seven Stars were 4-1 winners at Farmer's Arms, two each for Alan Gregson and Matt Dunn.
