STONECLOUGH clung on throughout a tense finish to clinch a 2-1 victory over Tempest and a place in the Bolton Hospital Cup semi-finals.
After a goalmouth scramble, Tim Rees put Stoneclough ahead in the third minute and Craig Thompson increased their lead from the penalty spot in the 56th minute.
Despite a severe Tempest onslaught, which saw Lee Collier reduce the deficit in the 75th minute, Stoneclough hung on to seal a clash with Blackrod Town at Breightmet United on Tuesday, kick-off 6.30pm.
On May 8, Atherton Collieries take on Turton or Atherton Town at Eagley, kick-off 6.30pm.
