YOUNGSTERS made some new "friends" when they enjoyed a fun day at Blackrod station.
The event was part of the launch of the new "Friends of Blackrod Station" who aim to get the station improved.
They kicked off with a recruitment drive for members and also laid on a "Cajun Special" train, where passengers were entertained by a band.
Ruth Kelly MP, who has been involved with the moves to get cash for the station, is pictured helping with the face painting.
Keith Bowes, of the Friends, said: "It was a successful day. There was an encouraging turn-out and we doubled our membership to 120."
