SHOPPERS in Bolton will be serenaded in the battle of the buskers competition.
Musicians will compete for the crown of Best Busker in Bolton at three sites in the town centre from 10am on Satuyday.
The winner will be announced at a presentation in the Crompton Place Shopping centre at 4pm. Three cash prizes of £100, £50 and £25 for first, second and third place are on offer for the most talented performers who will be showcasing their musical flair on Nelson Square, Victoria Square and between Crompton Place, who are sponsoring the event, and Marks and Spencer.
The competition has been organised by Bolton Town Centre Company. Manager Cathy Savage said: "We're hoping for a good turnout -- every busker in Bolton knows about it and we've had phone calls from outside town.
"It's nice for people to hear music while they are out shopping."
