VISITORS to Rivington Spring Festival will enjoy a Village Green Afternoon, complete with maypole dancing and bellringing.
It is one of three events planned for the weekend, starting on Friday May, 9, with the sorrel String Quartet at Rivington Parish Church at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £27.50 for the black tie and after-dinner concert or £8 for the concert only.
The Village Green Afternoon will feature Rivington and Adlington Brass Band, maypole dancing, stalls, organ recitals and bellringing. On Saturday at Rivington Parish Church, there will be "An Evening with Norman Prince". Tickets cost £10 with wine and home made biscuits.
On Sunday, May 11, there will be a morning service at the church when Bishop Michael Lewis, the Bishop of Middleton, will preach. For tickets contact Isabella Leigh-Bramwell on 01204 694913 or Sheila and Peter Tonge on 01257 262958.
