A YOUTH, aged 16, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 14-year-old boy was stabbed in an alley.
Daniel Lomas, from Sale, was walking with a 16-year-old friend along Goose Green in Altrincham on Sunday night when the attack occurred.
The boys were approached from behind by the attacker who threatened them with a knife. He then dragged the Daniel down a side alley where he stabbed him in the stomach.
Daniel was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital for treatment and later transferred to Pendlebury Children's Hospital, where his condition is described as critical but stable.
The 16-year-old, from Cheadle Heath is being questioned by police.
