Wanderers stars have hailed Jussi Jaaskelainen the best goalkeeper in the Premiership.

The great Finn's Reebok fan club is expanding as he continues to turn in top class performances.

He was the toast of Bolton on Sunday when a brilliant 86th minute penalty save earned Wanderers a thoroughly deserved point from a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.

The Finn's team-mates then paid him the ultimate accolade by saying they would not swap him for any other keeper in the country.

"Jussi is brilliant," said Simon Charlton.

"He is one of the big reasons why we have stayed in the Premiership for the last two seasons.

"He pulls off world class saves all the time to get us points and I can't honestly think of any other keeper I would rather have behind me."

Jaaskelainen ensured Wanderers would leave Villa Park with a point as he flew to his left to claw Juan Pablo Angel's spot kick away.

It was the high point of a quality display by the Wanderers number one which included one vital save from Darius Vassel and complete dominance of his penalty area.

Defeat would have been an injustice to Wanderers who were unlucky not to have the lead to show for a first half they dominated and then gave as good as they got in a rip-roaring second half.

Wanderers were seething over the decision to award Angel a penalty after he tangled with Ivan Campo and Jaaskelainen's second penalty save of the season was regarded as justice in the Wanderers camp.

Even Villa boss David O'Leary admitted Wanderers were hard done by to have the penalty decision given against them.

It ensured Jaaskelainen's would be the hero of the hour and gave his team-mates the opportunity to be gushing in their praise of him.

Goalscorer Kevin Nolan described him as "unbelievable" adding: "He is the best goalkeeper in the Premiership, a great keeper.

"It was a great save from the late penalty chance. He is just different class and I can's understand why he's not Finland's number one."
