BOLTON householders are being urged to recycle their Christmas cards -- to help save woodland.
From Monday, bins will be available in all branches of Tesco and WH Smith stores to collect old festive cards.
It is part of a national scheme run by the Woodland Trust. The recycled cards result in preservation of native woodland all over the country. Martin Whitmore, from Tesco at Middlebrook said: "Last year's scheme was a huge success but we want to recycle even more cards this year."
A spokeswoman for the Trust said that there were two and a half billion cards nationwide that could be recycled.
The scheme runs throughout January.
