ENGINEERS for British Gas answered more than 14,000 breakdown calls from customers across the North-west at Christmas.
They fielded more than 700 calls on Christmas Day and Boxing Day throughout the region and on Christmas Eve they made 2,300 breakdown visits.
In total, engineers resolved 12,740 gas problems, 470 drains problems and 1,098 electricial appliance problems between December 22 and 29.
