IBRAHIM Ba is refusing to play for Wanderers in Saturday's FA Cup tie at Tranmere after rejecting a new contract offer.
The former AC Milan midfielder will quit the Reebok next week if he cannot agree terms and fears he could limit his chances of finding another club if he allows himself to be cup-tied.
Sam Allardyce intended playing the Frenchman at Prenton Park but had to revise his selection plans when Ba told him to count him out when contract talks broke down on financial grounds.
The Wanderers' boss confirmed: "Ba does not want to play and I can't blame him. Hopefully we can sort his contract out because I wouldn't want to lose him.
"His contract only runs out on January 8 and he is eligible to play tomorrow but he doesn't want to get himself cup-tied and I understand his frustrations."
