Leigh RMI 2 Chester 6 by David Magilton: RMI manager Phil Starbuck criticised his players for switching off as his side were thumped by Conference leaders Chester for the second time in a week.
Starbuck was annoyed with the way his team conceded three goals in the last four minutes to throw away their chance of completing a remarkable comeback.
It was a bizarre game with Chester racing to a 3-0 lead before RMI rocked them with two strikes. But the visitors bounced back with three late goals.
The Railway men had been looking to bounce back from a 5-1 Boxing Day defeat at Chester, but fell victim to the goalscoring prowess of Darryn Stamp and Daryl Clare.
Starbuck said: "I am saying the same things to the same players all the time. We gift other teams goals and make it very hard because we keep switching off. The lads are not taking responsibility. We got back into the game and Chester were worried, but all of a sudden we stopped playing.
"We have to take positives as we prepare for Woking tomorrow."
Stamp added two goals to the hat-trick he collected last week, while it was Clare's turn to hit a treble. Alex Smith completed the scoring in injury time, when he curled home a superb free-kick from 30 yards
Leigh's goals came from new signing Mario Daniel and Warren Peyton.
Daniel impressed with his speed and clever runs, while keeper Ian Martin -- who made his debut after Gary Kelly broke a thumb -- saved a penalty and made a string of great stops.
Leigh's problems mounted with Wayne Maden suffering a suspected broken nose, which will keep him out for at least a couple of weeks, while Neil Durkin's groin injury will prevent him from playing at Woking.
Ian Fitzpatrick has been sent back to Shrewsbury after he damaged his ankle, but RMI have replaced him with another loan midfielder, Paul Rickers from Northampton, who made a tough debut yesterday.
The club expect to sign Burscough's 23 year-old former Marine striker Kris McHale next week.
