THIS picture, taken in April, 1932, shows how the narrow section of Chorley Old Road, Bolton, at the Boot Lane junction, was being widened.
A slice was being taken from the land adjoining Johnson Fold Farm, seen in the distance on the extreme left. The photograph was taken from the roof of Delph Hill Mill.
