SAM Allardyce has got the striker he wanted when Javi Moreno agreed to join Wanderers.

The Spanish striker will sign on loan from Atletico Madrid until the end of the season after passing a medical on Monday afternoon.

But Wanderers are anxiously waiting for international clearance to come by noon on Tuesday so he can be in the squad against Manchester United for the Wednesday night Reebok clash.

The 29-year-old former Spanish international has been kept out of the Atletico Madrid side by the stunning form of young striker Torres and Allardyce has no reservations about his lack of match action in recent months.

"He is not in the Atletico side because of Torres, who is awesome," Allardyce said.

"But he has played five times this season and he has a proven goalscoring record.

"Anyway, what's new? Every player we get hasn't played for half a season. That's why we get them."

The former Alaves and AC Milan star is anxious to kick-start his career at Wanderers.

His representative Pedro Bravo said: "The main thing for Javi is that he wants to play football, and this has been the problem.

"He is happy to move to Bolton and play in the Premier League. Ivan Campo is there and doing well and he has spoken to him about the move."
