THE story about the Bolton inventor of the New Century Racing Plate continues to run and run.
A couple of people have been in touch to say that the "toff" seen shaking hands with Robert Wood on a racecourse somewhere was Lord Derby.
But Evening News columnist Fred Shawcross says he is "virtually certain" that the chap in the top hat was Lord Rosebery -- "one of a whole raft of titled men who used the turf for some pretty spectacular gambles."
