BURY had the lowest crowd in all four divisions on Saturday.
It has been coming for a while. The lowest point was when less than 2,300 turned up for a match against York at the end of September and, although the average is just over 3,000, that figure has been bolstered by visits of clubs with big followings such as Hull, Huddersfield and Doncaster.
Bury can count on crowds of around 2,700.
Coming from Bury and having covered them for 10 years, I know this is their hardcore home crowd.
It will never rise by more than 2,000 nor dip by more than 500 no matter how good or bad things get.
Bury boast remarkably loyal fans. It is a shame there are not more of them.
