LEIGH Centurions have pulled off a record shirt sponsorship deal with the UK's second largest brewery, Coors.
The two-year deal will see the Worthington's logo on the front of the Centurions new strip, which is to be manufactured by Kukri.
The sponsorship deal has exceeded the previous club record and is in excess of £50,000.
Commercial Director, Derek Beaumont says: "This is a fantastic deal for the club. It is an indictment that major sponsors now see the Centurions as a club with true marketability and a serious player in partnership building. The new shirts look fantastic and with the Worthington's logo on the front I am sure it will be a true winner."
John Beresford, Coors Brewery New Business Manager says: "We are very pleased to be associated with the Centurions. They are a team that have achieved a lot over the last few years and we feel that they are a team who will achieve further success.
"The club has potential to be very successful and we feel that now is the time to develop a partnership that will benefit both the club and our brands. We are planning a long term association, and consider the club, who have made some solid business decisions over the last year an excellent opportunity."
Commercially the club has also signed three new major shirt sponsorship deals with Arriva Trains, who will be positioned on the sleeves, Econoloft on the back of the shirt, and local business, Atico Hair Studio, on the collar. Two companies, Learndirect and Padken Steel Erection respectively, have both signed continuation deals for the short sponsorship.
Mr Beaumont adds: "The fact that we have attracted major sponsors to the club represents the hard work that we have done over the last 12 months. We will continually strive to make the Centurions a club that the supporters feel proud of, the players are proud to play for, and businesses be they local, national, big or small know that they will be getting not only value for money but a long term partnership with a club that has big ambitions and hopefully a new stadium in 18 months time."
The Centurions have announced a pre-season friendly against Warrington at Warrington on Sunday, January 4 with a 3pm kick off.
