EAGLEY picked up three points with an entertaining 2-1 win over BAE Barrow in the West Lancashire Premier Division.

Kevan Hughes fired just wide and Carl Grimshaw headed over the bar as Eagley started brightly.

Villagers keeper Mark Warren was on his toes at the other end as the Cumbrians created several openings.

But it was Grimshaw who gave Eagley the lead from the penalty spot on the half hour following a handball.

And he added a second ten minutes after the break, heading in a powerful right-wing cross from Mel Bentham.

But BAE pulled a goal back with 20 minutes to go, when Mike Otto slotted in following a fine save from Warren.

It set up an exciting finish, but the Villagers took the points.

EWAN Purcell scored twice for Eagley reserves as they lost 2-3 at Freckleton.
