Pioneer League: A GREAT start was enough to see Hulton Lane A home 2-1 against Queen Anne in the Sunday League Cup.
Rice and Cunniff scored to put Lane two up, before Paul Fay pulled one back.
Three goals in the final 15 minutes saw Horwich St Mary's race away to beat Great Lever 6-3. The two teams had been locked at 3-3 until the final quarter of an hour.
Horwich's goalscorers were Buckley, Roberts, Ramsden (2) and Pezsell (2).
Hulton Lane B and Masons had to settle for a point each, drawing 2-2.
Masons will be the more frustrated side, having gone 2-0 up when Dave Bowl had added to an earlier own goal.
Lane hit back to level the score through Gregory and Moss.
Goals from Hornby, Whittle and Powell were enough to give Astley Miners a 3-1 win over Spread Eagle, for whom Wes Gallagher scored.
Elsewhere, Schooner ran out 4-1 winners against Railway, while White Horse of the Premier Division proved too strong for First Division Sharples, notching up a 6-0 victory, and Royal Hotel beat Prince Rupert by the same score.
