MARK Leyland was the first Horwich Cycling Club member home when he came seventh in the Roses Challenge Cyclo-Cross in Bolton.
Ninety-two riders from clubs across Lancashire and Yorkshire descended on Queens Park for the 10-lap race.
The winner was Rob Jebb, of Team Wheelbase, the three-times winner of the Three Peaks race.
For Horwich, Ric Sale came 20th, Denis Kaskin was 23rd, Dave Headon was 24th, Russell Owen 32nd, Dave Leyland 42nd, Liam Worthy 43rd and Danny Drake 50th.
In the youths' race, Matt Jones finished sixth and Andrew Davies 17th. Clare Gore was eighth in the under-12s race.
