IWAS intrigued by the suggestion of Cllr Guy Harkin, that Bolton should attempt to throw off the stigma of its industrial cloth caps, cobbles and clogs image by a rebirth as Bolton-le-Moors.
This, he implied, would serve to remind the nation of the town's attractive rural moorland heritage.
I then noticed an article concerned about the possibility of a massive wind farm on one of our most beautiful moorland retreats upstream of the Broadhead Valley north of Edgworth.
Perhaps the distinguished councillor should pre-empt this development, and rename the town Bolton-le-Windmills.
Alternatively, Cllr Harkin and as many Boltonians as possible could join the action campaign to oppose this monstrous proposal, and write urgently to their respective Member of Parliament with their objections.
