FORMER Wanderer Andy Todd is winning the battle to face his former club as Blackburn manager Graeme Souness tries to overcome an injury crisis.
Todd missed Blackburn's 2-2 draw at Wolves on Wednesday night with a calf strain.
But the 29-year-old son of former Wanderers boss Colin Todd is expected to partner Martin Taylor at centre-back tomorrow, after Craig Short picked up a hamstring injury at Molineux.
Todd made 107 appearances in just over four years with Wanderers.
But while Todd is a likely starter tomorrow, Bolton-born midfielder Garry Flitcroft will serve a one-game ban after picking up five bookings.
Rovers are also missing key midfielders David Thompson and Barry Ferguson, both out for the season with long-term knee injuries.
The Rovers boss has also faced problems up front, with Dwight Yorke unhappy after being left out of the starting line-up.
Yorke has been overlooked in favour of 19-year-old striker Paul Gallagher, and was linked with a move to Wolves earlier this week.
But the 32-year-old striker came off the bench to head a late equaliser at Molineux.
Souness has challenged Yorke to show the same hunger and application on a more consistent basis during the second half of the season.
And the former Manchester United striker will be keen to make his mark tomorrow, having scored a 94th-minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw when the teams met at the Reebok back in August.
"Dwight's got the hump with me at the moment but he's shown me that he still wants to play here and that pleases me," said Souness.
"I'm happy for him to stay here if he shows the willingness to play the way I want him to play and the way I feel he can play.
"Dwight is super-talented, but it's no good having all that ability if you don't combine that with real hard work.
"And to be a hard-working player, everything in your life has to be right because the demands of the Premiership are so great."
