A LEIGH man who tried to fool the police with a fake insurance certificate came close to wrecking his new career as a lorry driver.
Peter Waterworth, aged 24, of Eastbridge, Water Street, admitted fraudulent use of an insurance certificate and driving in Middleton without insurance at Rochdale magistrates yesterday.
Magistrates heard that Waterworth was a lorry driver who would lose his job if he was banned. They added six penalty points to the six he already has on his licence and fined him £250 with £43 court costs after hearing he bought the fake certificate in a pub.
