A DEDICATED volunteer has scooped a national award for his hard work at the Bolton Citizens Advice Bureau.
John Cross, a volunteer for three years, was handed the National Volunteer of the Year Award by the Princess Royal at the organisation's annual conference in York last month.
Mr Cross has worked to improve access to benefits for people with disabilities and also in establishing the Bolton Against Racism Group.
He said: "I've learned so much from volunteering at CAB.
"It's given me the opportunity to develop my skills and to improve my career prospects."
Anyone interested in volunteering for the Citizens Advice Bureau can go along to an information session at its Mawdsley Street headquarters.
