A FRUSTRATED councillor who has cash to give away to people in Bolton said today: "Get off your backsides and get it."
Cllr Stuart Lever is urging his constituents in Astley Bridge, Bromley Cross and Hall i' th' Wood to apply for voluntary sector grants.
He has £6,000 to give away and if he has not done so within the next four weeks, he says he will have to dish it out to other areas.
His area receives £3,000 each year but for the past three years, the cash has had to be rolled over because there have been few takers.
There is now £6,000 left but the problem of handing it out remains.
The money can be given to Scout groups or residents associations or any other organisation which is run to benefit residents.
To apply for a grant, go to the next Astley Bridge forum meeting on February 4 at 6.30pm in the Theatre Church, Seymour Road, Astley Bridge.
