A NEW board member has been appointed at Bolton Hospitals NHS Trust.
Yaseer Ahmed, aged 26, has been welcomed on to the board after being appointed by the NHS Appointments Commission.
Mr Ahmed, from Daubhill, is already a member of the Race Equality Board for the Bolton Primary Care Trust and a member of the Racial Harmony Forum.
He is employed by the Bolton Council of Mosques, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Bolton Enterprise Centre Ltd, and chairman of Getting Ethnic Minorities into Sport and Wednesdays, a young entrepreneurs network.
He is currently studying for a PhD in microbiology, is a qualified further education teacher and speaks English, Urdu and Gujerati. His appointment will last four years and he will receive £5,426 a year.
Trust chairman Peter Liptrott said: "I am delighted by Mr Ahmed's appointment. He brings to the Trust a wealth of new skills and experience coupled with enthusiasm. I am sure he will soon become a valuable member of the team."
