A TEAM from the Bolton Evening News is in training to take part in a unique women's only race, Race for Life, in June.
Even though the race is some ten weeks away we are already looking for sponsors and looking forward to running or perhaps walking the 3.1 mile race.
And we are hoping that hundreds and hundreds of women will be inspired to join in the fun and raise money for charity at the same time as well.
Race organisers hope more than 1,000 women will take part in the Bolton event, at Leverhulme Park on Sunday, June 22, starting at 11am.
Cancer Research UK's Race for Life, sponsored by Tesco, is a unique series of 5km events across the UK, where women walk or run together to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK to help cure cancer faster. Race for life is currently in its tenth year. It started in 1994 at Battersea and has so far raised £35 million for Cancer Research UK.
Organisers hope to raise £17.5 million in 2003 through the 130 races that will be taking place across the UK.
