A ONE-man dramatisation of two classic short stories is presented by Raymond Sargent at the Darwen Library Theatre, on Saturday, January 31.
Two Victorian Tales is made up of classic short stories by Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy. In The Signalman, by Dickens, a retired wealthy industrialist feels a need to explore a new phenomenon, the railway system and befriends the solitary inhabitant of a lonely signal box.
In Hardy's The Three Strangers, three seemingly unrelated strangers arrive at a child's christening. The question is who is telling the truth.
