BOLTON under-14s are through to the quarter-finals of the North-west Woodward Trophy after winning 3-0 at St Helens.
Chris McCaughtry (Mount St Joseph's) hit the bar for Bolton in the first minute, and then at the other end Kieron Edwards (Deane) made a fine save.
But McCaughtry chipped Bolton ahead two minutes before the break, before Paul Williams (Sharples) headed in a Dale Warburton (St Joseph's) cross ten minutes into the second half.
McCaughtry sealed the win with a penalty after he was brought down in the area.
Bolton under-15s started 2004 with a defeat -- 2-0 at Rochdale in a challenge match.
