YOUNGSTERS at Bolton Lads and Girls Club are asking local businesses to help them raise cash and help the environment at the same time.

The club has joined forces with print products manufacturer Lasertech to take part in a charity recycling scheme for used print, fax or photocopying cartridges.

Bolton businesses will be paid up to £10 for each empty cartridge returned to Lasertech, with a donation going to the club.

Lasertech will place a collection box in the office or factory of any business. A van will call on a regular basis to empty the box.

One of the first businesses to support the scheme is law firm Kippax Beaumont Lewis in Mawdsley Street. Partner Mike Beaumont, who has been involved with the club for many years, said: "Hundreds of young people use the club and I would urge businesses to support the scheme."

Jerry Glover, manager of the club, said: "We are grateful that Lasertech is giving businesses in Bolton the opportunity to donate cash to our club."

Anyone interested in taking part in the scheme should call Claire Philips on 01204 540100.
