BOLTON schoolchildren, aged four to 11 are being asked to put their green fingers to the test in a nationwide gardening competition.
Those who enter the Baby Bio National Schools Growing Competition receive a free growing starter pack to try their skills at growing a prize-winning petunia.
The local winner will be invited to attend the national final at BBC Gardeners World Live on June 19, at the NEC in Birmingham.
The overall winner stands to pick up £1,000 cash prize for their school plus a £100 voucher to spend at their local garden centre.
Runners up prizes on offer are £750 cash and a £75 voucher for second prize and £500 cash plus a £50 voucher for third prize.
