Bolton 3 Heaton Moor 5: BOLTON were denied a third successive win as Heaton Moor edged the latest of a series of close games between the sides.
Moor took the lead with an early unconverted try.
Bolton had chances to reply, but Danny Barlow missed the goal with two kicks.
A change in kicker brought a reward; Mark Higgins converting a penalty with his second attempt.
Bolton winger John Keech was sent off in the second half for retaliation.
With time running out, Bolton brought on Ian Cameron at scrum-half for his debut, but Moor held out.
Bolton seconds recovered from a deficit to win 19-15 at Thornton Cleveleys. Pete Hackin, Tom Lee and JP Singleton scored tries. Pete Carletti added two conversions.
The thirds also won, hanging on for a 23-20 victory at Didsbury. Bolton had led 23-10 thanks to two tries from Derek Keogh and one from Simeon Shakespeare, with Guy Lovgreen adding a conversion and two penalties.
Meanwhile, Bolton's veterans ran in 12 tries as they thumped hosts Heaton Moor 76-5. There were hat-tricks for Greg McMillan and Greg Nicol, two each for Dominic Holden and Guy Holden and one apiece for Martin Higgins and Chris Barr.
Training at Bolton RUFC takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm. New players are welcome.
