Trafford 15 Tyldesley 24: A DOMINANT performance saw Tyldesley to victory over their neighbours Trafford.

Tyldesley's in-form forward laid the platform for fly-half Mark Dickinson to shine.

He dived over near the posts for the first try, before Trafford drew level at 5-5 with an uncoverted score.

But back row forward Adam Featherstone touched down to restore Tyldesley lead, with Dickinson kicking the conversion.

Trafford hit back with a penalty, but Dickinson then scored his second try following good work by Gareth Jones and Eddie Wallbank.

Teenage winger James Eckersley then raced 60 metres for a fine Tyldesley try, before Trafford pulled back seven points with a score and conversion at the end.

Tyldesley host Eccles at St George's Park on Saturday.

Scrum-half Sean Campbell landed two tries and forwards Jamie Aldred, Peter Hayes and Dave Goulbourne scored one each as Tyldesley Knights beat Trafford 35-10. Full back Fraser Mackintosh added two conversions and two penalties.

Bill Elliott scored the game's only try - converted by Graham Harrop - as Tyldesley Dragons defeated Trafford 7-0.

Tyldesley Stallions were beaten 33-0 by Tarleton's first team. There were good performances from backs Rick Pennington and Shaun Pulman, and from forwards Andrew Oakden, Jim Hutton and Brian Ndlovu.
