IN the light of Wanderers' victories over Chelsea and Blackburn I would like to point out that all those millions spent in the past at Blackburn and more recently Chelsea could not stop the mighty Whites from inflicting crushing defeats on their so-called superstar teams.

It is particularly refreshing to see a side of true character and determination beat both these teams in their own back yard.

Just imagine what AIIardyce could do with a few quid.

Maybe one day a wealthy benefactor will help the Wanderers so we, too, can try and be as big as Blackburn and Chelsea!

In a strange way I hope not. I get a lot more satisfaction from a team that has been built up over the seasons with players with something to prove.

Players who cost nothing being led by a manager who can motivate.

Is it any wonder newspaper reports are linking AIIardyce with other jobs?

So a prediction for the rest of the season. Chelsea will sack their manager before making an audacious attempt to prise AIIardyce away from the Whites. Having failed they will resort back to Sven.

They will finish with nothing in the trophy cabinet and a Uefa Cup spot at best. As for poor Blackburn, the spectre of relegation looms large.

As for the Whites, they will win a Uefa Cup spot as a result of winning the Carling Cup and get a healthy top half finish as they build year on year into a formidable Premiership force without breaking the bank.
